Crafted by the esteemed architect Arthur Blomfield between 1862 and 1864, with an extension added in 1887, the church stands on what was once farmland at the gateway to East Sheen Common. Noteworthy for its early Victorian design, the church’s construction faced challenges, including the collapse of its tower before completion. However, it was consecrated on 13 January 1864, becoming a Grade II listed building recognized for its stonework and the ornate wrought iron railings that encircle it.
